I was born and raised in London, however I made the decision to study Dentistry in Valencia, Spain.
After qualifying, I decided to trade in the Mediterranean sun and sea for the beautiful North East by joining Alpha Dental.
The absence of an NHS performer number meant I had some nervousness around being tied in to a long-term contract, as well as how I would adapt to the way dentistry is performed in the UK.
I needn’t have worried as on joining Alpha Dental (now part of Riverdale Healthcare) I was able to be involved in a Private Access Scheme, whilst waiting for my NHS performer number, that allowed me to gain experience in lower cost dentistry but on a private basis.

I started my dental career as a trainee dental nurse in 1993, working in Middlesbrough. I earned £25 per week and moved between a number of sites on local buses, of which some would take 3 buses to get to, and still I had enough money to go out every weekend…… how? I don’t know!
I qualified in 1994 and worked with Foundation Dentists for the next few years. I developed my skills and added to my duties which help me progress into Practice Management a few years later, which I did until I left in 2004 to spend more time with my daughter, Rosie.
I was only at home for 4 weeks after leaving my previous position when I was contacted by Ian Gordon, a director of a local dental group, who heard I had left my previous employer and asked if I would come and do some work with his sites on the new computer system (System 2000). I agreed to do a few days a week on a temporary basis until they had someone in place to take over. This never happened and I was offered a role after a few weeks and stayed with the Dental Centre Group until they sold to IDH in 2007. By this time I had my second child and when IDH came onboard, I was offered a regional auditor role which was really interesting and I enjoyed role. It required a lot of investigating and supporting sites especially with claim management and contract targets. I managed to do this a year before I left due to family commitments. I was finding it hard to be away from kids when my husband worked away lot.
I went onto to work for James Cook University hospital as an audit facilitator for the Cardio-thoracic department. I was responsible for making sure the patient journey was safe and productive. This was a role I really enjoyed and I made a lot of positive changes to both Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit wards but found the pace really slow.
Once again I was contacted by Ian Gordon who was in the process of setting up a new dental group, Alpha and he wanted me to join them as Business Manager. After a lot of discussions I made the decision to join them, as I love the dentistry world and it was the best decision I ever made.
I brought a lot of new skills from IDH and James Cook Hospital, which I put in place. We had a busy few years building Alpha from one site to nine, which is when Riverdale Healthcare acquired the group. I continued with my business management role as this was a mix of Operations and Finance but as the group was growing, I knew I needed to make a decision on which part of the business I wanted to grow with as Riverdale Healthcare were ready to help and support which ever decision I made.
I accepted the role of Head of Operations in Feb 2000 just before Covid struck and can honestly say it’s been the most challenging role I have ever had but also the most rewarding; watching the group grow and become something very special.
I feel very lucky to be part of Riverdale Healthcare and excited about what’s round the corner for me with my own succession plan.
I was fairly late to the party when I qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2007. I had spent most of my career in a Finance role. I had only been qualified for just over 3 years when I applied for the position of Dental Nurse at Alpha Dental in 2010. I’d just turned 40 and the thought of starting a new job was quite daunting, especially still having two young children in primary school.
Alpha Dental offered me a dental nurse position at the Dales practice, based in Leyburn working with Ben Wild and Angela Daniel and instantly I felt like I’d worked there for years.
Not too long afterwards I was offered the position of Head Nurse at Leyburn, in which I split my time between two practices; Bedale and Leyburn. I was lucky enough to work at Bedale on the first day it opened its doors.
By 2012, Alpha Dental / Windmill Orthodontics was successful in obtaining the North Yorkshire and York Orthodontic contract and I was promoted to Practice Manager for Bedale and York, setting up both practices from the beginning.
In 2017, I moved across to our Support Office in Stokesley to assist with the day to day running of the business, whilst still managing a small part of the orthodontic contract.
I briefly left Alpha in December 2018, but returned to a new Riverdale Healthcare in 2019, where I have experienced a number of roles from Staff Payroll, Orthodontic Claims Manager and more recently Associate Pay Manager.
I am now working alongside our People and Culture Director as HR manager.

Helen started working at Charnwood Dental in 2013 as a full time receptionist. In 2018 she dropped 1 day to look after her grandchildren. Helen now works 4 days on reception.
Helen is a dedicated receptionist and a valued member of the team. Known for her exceptional organisational skills and friendly manner, she has remarkable ability to manage multiple tasks while providing a warm and welcoming environment for our patients.
In Helen’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family including her 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren going out for food and drinks and theatre trips especially musicals. Another thing she enjoys is taking touring caravan for breaks around the UK.

Dr Nisar qualified in 1995 from Guys Hospital, London.
He has a very caring, warm, and relaxed chairside manner and is particularly experienced in treating anxious patients. In his 27 years of providing high-quality dentistry, he has carried out thousands of successful dental procedures.
Dr Nisar has special interests in composite bonding, digital smile design, smile makeovers, emergency same-day treatment, nervous patients, and implants.
Aisha graduated from the Army Medical College (AMC) in 2008 and became registered with the UK General Dental Council in 2015.
She is committed to delivering the highest standard of dental care, combining her expertise with a warm, attentive approach that puts patients at ease. Aisha is particularly passionate about creating beautiful smiles with Invisalign aligners.
She takes pride in building strong connections with her patients, making each visit comfortable and stress-free.

Dr Sonam is an enthusiastic and dedicated Dentist with a strong educational background. She graduated from the prestigious King’s College London with Honours (Distinction).
Her commitment to the profession has led her to embark on multiple post-graduate courses. This includes facial aesthetics (anti-wrinkle treatment and dermal fillers) to allow her to enhance natural beauty to restore youth and confidence in her patients. She has also completed further training in composite (white fillings) to ensure she is providing optimal, high quality dental care utilising the most advanced treatments available. As well as this, she has previously worked in a hospital setting where she enhanced her oral surgery and dental extraction skills.
With a calm and composed demeanour, Dr. Sonam approaches each patient with empathy and understanding. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a complex procedure, she ensures that every individual feels comfortable and cared for throughout their visit.
Outside of the clinic, you will find Sonam playing badminton and experiencing new cultures visiting countries all over the world through her love of travelling!
Jose graduated in Lisbon, Portugal in 2010 with an integrated master degree in Dentistry and a published clinical trial master thesis. There, he worked for a year before coming to the UK. In 2011 Jose moved to Birmingham where he has been practicing general dentistry which he still does to this day as the clinical lead.
In 2014, Jose took a short course in quick straight teeth and since then orthodontics became his number one passion in dentistry. From there he developed a special interest in orthodontics, taking multiple PGA and advanced clinical training in this field, including a PGA in Orthodontic and facial Orthopaedics at The City of London Dental School.
Now Jose provides high quality orthodontic treatments to patients all ages in both NHS and private settings. Including comprehensive conventional metal braces and highly cosmetic braces such as ceramic braces and aligners.
He also loves interceptive cases with functional appliances which target growth.
He has a strong belief it is key to intervene at the right age for optimal results and unlock the best facial aesthetics.
Growing up close to the beach Jose became passionate about the sea and its water sports such as surfing and sailing. Now living in the beautiful British countryside he enjoys gardening, horse riding and swimming.
Sarah started her career in Dentistry in 1997 as a Trainee Dental Nurse, joining Charnwood Dental in 1998. On completion of her dental nurse qualification in 1999, she moved to Newcastle-upon-Tyne to study Dental Hygiene, qualifying in December 2001. Sarah returned to Charnwood Dental, resituated in The Bull Ring, to establish the role of Dental Hygienist in January 2002.
Sarah Is dedicated to providing a high standard of care to her patients, works closely with fellow clinicians, and supports the committed team of Dental Nurses, Reception staff and Practice Manager.
Outside of work, Sarah will generally be found with her head stuck in a book, and is passionate about promoting the benefits of reading! She has recently started growing fruit and vegetables to fuel her love for cooking, and regularly receives compliments for her work lunches. Sarah has recently started open water swimming at Six Hills and Spring Lakes.
Kate Started her career in 2003 and after qualifying in 2005at Birmingham dental school and when the law changed she became registered with the GDC in 2008.
Kate is qualified in taking dental impressions in 2013 also is a qualified assessor in 2023 and is awaiting to start her Oral Health Practitioners course . Kate has a passion for teaching patients on their oral health and helping with finding alternatives for people with ADHD and who are on the autism spectrum and with chronic conditions that affect their oral health such as people with all four types of diabetes .

Ayesha is a passionate, caring dentist who strives for perfection in the work she does. Outside of her work, Ayesha loves spending time outdoors with her children and travelling.
Khadija qualified from The University of Manchester in 2019 with Honours, receiving a certificate for the highest overall performance in the 5 years of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme for her year group.
Following completion of her Dental Foundation Training, she worked as an Oral and Maxillofacial Senior House Officer (SHO) in a number of hospitals across Manchester including Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Salford Royal Foundation Trust and Trafford General Hospital. During her time as an SHO, she was involved in numerous minor oral surgery clinics including conducting biopsy lists independently.
Her interest in oral surgery lead to her presenting a poster at the British Association of Oral Surgery Conference in 2018 and a case report at the European Association for Cranio Maxillofacial Surgery in 2021. In addition to this, she has a wide range of other interests including providing composite bonding and Invisalign treatment. Khadija is dedicated to gaining and sharing knowledge and published an article on Paediatric Dentistry in Dental Update as an undergraduate student. In addition, Khadija is currently undergoing a year long diploma on Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry. Khadija is bilingual, being proficient at both English and Arabic. Lamia launched her career in 2017 as an Apprentice Dental Nurse at a private practice in Leicester. After qualifying in a mixed practice, she gained extensive experience in oral surgery, dental implants, and orthodontics. Her journey also includes roles as a treatment coordinator and obtaining certification in Dental Radiography, leading her into management.
Dedicated to her profession, Lamia is deeply passionate about fostering a supportive environment for her staff, coaching, and ensuring the highest level of care for her patients.
Beyond her work, Lamia is a certified fitness instructor who enjoys staying active at the gym. She loves spending time with family and friends and has a particular appreciation for dining out and good food.

Chris graduated from Sheffield University in 2009 and spent the next 3 years practicing in Teignmouth, South Devon. In 2013, he relocated to Stockport and has spent the last decade working in general practice.
He has fifteen years of experience delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in general practice, and has been an Educational Supervisor for newly-qualified dentists since 2018. In respect to this role, he has attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
More recently, he has studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontics, where he has been undertaking increasingly complex procedures and improving his provision of high quality care in this area of dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, he spends a lot of time with his young family, plays golf and runs half marathons – he recently raised £1500 for the British Heart Foundation in the 2024 Great Manchester Run.
Dr Usman is determined to provide the best care for his patients. He graduated from Kings College London is 2018 and has since embarked on multiple postgraduate training courses to enhance the care and variety of treatment he can provide to patients these include in:
Cosmetic and Restorative dentistry – including composite bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns and full mouth rehabilitation.
Implant dentistry – to replace missing or failing teeth with a long term solution.
Orthodontic Invisalign training – to allow him to straighten teeth using invisible clear aligners.
That additional training enables him to provide many services, not limited just by enhancing smiles but also restoring dental function with great precision and care. In his free time, Usman maintains an active lifestyle outside of the dental office and prioritises fitness, relaxing through walks with his family and spoiling himself with a good Turkish mixed grill. he also loves to travel with his favourite destination being Thailand but there’s only so much time off work he can take before he starts thinking about teeth again.

Andrea qualified as a dentist in 2006 and started her career working in private practices abroad (In Oman and India). After moving to the UK in 2012, she completed her Overseas Qualification Exams and has gained extensive experience practicing all forms of general and aesthetic dentistry. I was recognised with a national award in 2021 for “Young Dentist of the Year“.
As a dentist, I pride myself on my ability to listen to patients and provide tailor-made solutions for them. I find great satisfaction in restoring self-esteem and comfort in patients through natural looking smiles and am super proud of the beautiful smiles I create and the confidence this gives back to my patients. He has attained a certification in practical Implantology and diploma in implant and restorative dentistry.
He specialises in cosmetic and implant dentistry with especially keen interests in Invisalign and composite bonding.
He currently accepts external and internal referrals for simple and complex implant cases as well as being a GDC registered mentor for dental implant placement. He has been made an elite Invisalign provider and has completed one of the highest number of individual Invisalign cases in the north east.
Rachel Haigh (BchD Leeds 2014)
Rachel qualified from Leeds Dental School in 2014 and has been working at Regent Terrace Dental Practice since 2015, alongside other commitments. She thoroughly enjoys being a General Dentist and carrying out a wide scope of dental treatments, especially working with anxious patients and children to ensure they have a positive experience when visiting our practice. She is renound for a friendly and empathetic approach towards her patients and many have been coming to see her since she started working at the Practice.
Several years ago, she completed comprehensive Invisalign training and more recently has also started providing Suresmile within the practice. Alongside these treatments and other minimally invasive dentistry concepts, she enjoys carrying out private treatments alongside her general NHS work. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her soon to be expanding family!

Nicola has worked at the practice since April 2015 and enjoys treating the wide variety of patients that attend. She provides both Invisalign and SureSmile short-term orthodontic systems, Boutique Whitening and Smilefast Composite Bonding privately. She is always looking to continue to develop her skills in restorative dentistry by attending further courses. She particularly enjoys treating anxious patients and those looking to improve their smile.
At home, Nicola has two young children and enjoys spending lots of time with them outdoors. She can often be found with them at an animal farm or at a park!

Neeraj Diddee graduated from Newcastle University in 2005 and has since been keen and motivated to deliver the highest quality of dental care for his patients.
Since graduating, Neeraj has worked in several practices in the North East providing both NHS and Private dental care. He has continued to develop his professional training by gaining membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice and recently gaining a Fellowship with the College of General Dentistry. He has also undertaken numerous courses in the UK and aborad including gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons England.
Neeraj works clinically at Vitality Dental Care, Fairfield and is also Clinical Director for Riverdale Healthcare. He is also a Training Programme Director with Health Education England where he supports, mentors and teaches Foundation Dentists. His passion is Adhesive Restorative Dentistry and he also teaches hands-on courses on this subject.
Outside of work Neeraj enjoys going on holiday with his family, technology and sport.
With over 10-years Implantology experience behind him, Haytham provides sedation and implant treatments, providing patients with the option of being relaxed and comfortable through their implant journey. He finds treating anxious patients very rewarding, and his experience with sedation means he can provide quality care for patients who would otherwise be too nervous to have treatment.
His experience with implants has led him to carry out a wide variety of treatments, from straight forward single tooth implants to complex full arch cases. The joy on his patients’ faces when they return having been able to be confident in smiling or going out for meals is what he strives to achieve for every patient.
Rup is dedicated general dentist with over a decade of experience in providing comprehensive dental care. After graduating from Newcastle University in 2006, he has worked across the North East providing NHS and private dental care.
Rup’s practice is rooted in a commitment to patient-centred care. He focuses on creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their dental health and concerns. His areas of expertise include restorative dentistry, preventive care, cosmetic procedures, and patient education. He takes pride in using the latest dental technologies to ensure his patients receive the best possible treatment.
Outside of practice, Rup is actively involved in continuing education and stays updated with the latest advancements in dentistry. He has undertaken postgraduate courses including Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons London and the Diploma of Clinical Dental Implants in Newcastle. He continues his education and learning by regularly attending courses to refine his skills and provide his patients with cutting-edge treatments.
When he is not working, Rup enjoys sport and is a big Arsenal fan!

Mihai graduated from Carol Davila University, Bucharest in 2000, before relocating to the UK in 2008 to work as a general dental practitioner. His interest in managing anxious patients using conscious sedation led him to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation in 2009, and in 2017, Mihai took on the role of Educational Supervisor for newly qualified dentists at Yorkshire Deanery.
Passionate about dentistry, he views it as a blend of art, technology, and psychology and is completely devoted to helping patients feel at ease and relaxed during treatment. His expertise lies in root canal treatments (endodontics) and restorative dentistry where he holds a Master of Science in Endodontology with Distinction. As a dentist with enhanced skills in endodontics, he accepts referrals for root canal treatments from other practices.

Rashmi qualified from the MUHS university in India in 2005 and relocated to England in 2007. She has strived to keep up to date with the current thinking in dentistry, and to support this, she gained her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF) qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011. Although most aspects of dentistry appeal to Rashmi, she has always had a special interest in Conscious sedation and Dental Implantology.
Following her passion to help patients relax during their dental treatments, Rashmi gained her Diploma in Conscious Sedation from Newcastle University in 2011. In addition, she gained experience in Implant dentistry by completing a one year certificate course in Implantology in 2018. She is keen to further her knowledge in the field of Dental Implants.
When not at work, Rashmi enjoys spending time with her family. She believes in staying fit, enjoys running and swimming.

His post-graduate education focuses on all aspects of restorative dentistry, occlusion, dental implants, and endodontics. In 2016, Iain achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Chester.
Iain takes pride in working very closely with referring dentists to ensure that patients receive the very best care that is appropriate for them. He is very happy to work on a shared-care basis, completing as much or as little of the treatment as the referring dentist wishes.

Robyn is the newest dentist at Vitality Fairfield. She grew up in Northern Ireland and moved to the North East when she graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2022.
