Very Sad Announcement About Our Colleague Paran

We are extremely sad to be announcing the sudden and untimely passing of our friend and colleague Paran Nithiananthan, our long-term and highly-valued associate at our Alpha Dental Care Fairfield practice.

Paran was taken ill only a few days ago and was unable to fight off a bacterial infection which caused brain inflammation that could not be controlled.

He leaves his wife Claire and two small children – our hearts go out to them and his wider family at this awful time. Claire is well known to many in the old Alpha team having previously worked at both our Chester-Le-Street and Fairfield practices, where she first met Paran.

We are grateful to Claire for keeping us updated as Paran fought this infection albeit ultimately in vain – his legacy will always live on not least through the 7 people he helped at the end through organ donation – so brave, so Paran.

Paran hailed from Teesside and graduated from Manchester University in 2010, where he joined Alpha Dental Care Fairfield only five months after the practice opened, and when Alpha Dental Care had only been established for two years. He was Neeraj Diddee’s first Foundation Dentist and remained at the practice throughout, developing his clinical skills with Neeraj’s continued mentorship to become a highly respected and skilled clinician.

Paran himself became an Educational Supervisor for new graduates giving something back to the profession he loved. He was very much looking forward to continuing this journey in our new Vitality Fairfield practice, which he had helped us plan for.

This news has been a shock to everyone who knew Paran and this will be a difficult time for the tight-knit Alpha Fairfield team, who we know will be supported by their Riverdale colleagues.

For his many patients we know this will be a shock to you all as well. Please be reassured that we will ensure any outstanding treatment is completed and over time will make provision for your on-going care.

We are sure everyone will afford our Alpha Dental Care Fairfield practice the time and space it needs at this difficult time.

A book of condolence has been placed in the entrance to our Fairfield practice for people to leave their messages. In addition, a website has been set up in memory of Paran where anyone can leave tributes or memories, as well as make donations to worthy causes – this can be viewed by clicking here.
